First snow of winter falls in York

The first snow of winter 2025 fell across York this morning – Wednesday 19 November.

There have been some persistent heavy flurries, but it has not settled much within the city.

It’s presence was probably most keenly felt by the students of York St. John University who were gathering outside the Minster before their graduation ceremony.
