Meet the Romans at York Minster

Join us as we take part in the Eboracum Roman Festival, and welcome costumed interpreters to York Minster.
What have you always wanted to ask a Roman? Have you ever wondered what life was like in York when the Romans lived here? Did you know that underneath York Minster are the remains of an ancient Roman army barracks? Now’s your chance to find out! Discover fascinating artefacts up close, from everyday food and clothing to jewellery and replica weapons.
These sessions will run each day between:
- 10am – 12.30pm
- 1.30pm – 3.30pm
These sessions operate on a drop in basis, are included with a sightseeing ticket, and there is no pre-booking required.
