York Art Gallery

Explore 600 years of art, including 14th century Italian panels, 17th century Dutch masterpieces and 20th Century works by LS Lowry and David Hockney.

There are seven exhibition spaces in this building, which opened in 1879 and was inspired by the Great Exhibition of London.

York Art Gallery holds the largest collection of work by renowned York artist William Etty and is also home to the Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA).
