Looking for a night out but not wanting to drink? NoLow is a new map of York hostelries that celebrates where you can enjoy a night out without alcohol.
The project has been created by University of York and is supported by City of York Council and CAMRA.
People like NoLow options but they’re often hard to spot
The team from University or York, Anglia Ruskin University and University College Cork said “We started digging through existing research and quickly realised something important: people like NoLow options but they’re often hard to spot.”

Pub crawls with a difference
To help even more the team have come up with pub crawls in three different flavours!
Sober cycle
This two-wheeled tour is just under 12 miles in length and explores some of the venues further out of the centre, including the Brew York Handley Tap at Osbaldwick, The Fox in Holgate and the Winning Post on Bishy Road.
Sober stroll n’ sip
Starting at the Guy Fawkes on High Petergate, and finishing the House of Trembling Madness, on Stonegate, this trail visits some of the most iconic venues in the city.

York Walls walk
This classic circuit of the city includes the Golden Ball community pub in Bishop Hill and the Rook & Gaskhill opposite Walmgate Bar.
