It recreates some of the dark and gruesome aspects of the city’s past using theatrical actors, jump scares, and sensory experiences like smells and loud noises.

The York Dungeon is located on Clifford Street a short walk from Clifford’s Tower and The Park & Ride Clifford Street and Tower Street stop.

Is there an age limit for visitors to the York Dungeon?
The recommended age is 8 years old and visitors aged under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years old or over.
Children under the age of five years old will not be admitted, due to the slightly scary nature of some of the scenes.
