A house of surprises – hidden away behind York Minster. Treasurer’s House was crafted as a lavish show home for a fine collection of antiques, art and furniture by a wealthy 19th Century Yorkshireman.

At one time divided into three houses, in the late 1800s wealthy businessman Frank Green bought the house and transformed into an elaborately decorated town house, ready for the visit of Edward VII.

Today you can join a tour to hear about Frank Green’s life and find out how he saved it and changed the house into the grand show home we see today.
