Named after York’s most infamous character, the Guy Fawkes Inn has not one but THREE beer gardens – all in the shadow of York Minster.

The gunpowder plotter was born in 1570, allegedly in a cottage that used to stand one of these very beer gardens, allowing you to literally soak up the history.

Opened by King Charles III in 2023, it is primarily a restaurant, but you can sit out and enjoy a pint with an amazing view on a sunny day.

A beer garden that’s not technically outside – the York Tap resides under the canopy of York Station.

A former Victorian tea rooms, this fabulous building serves a wide selection of real ales and continental craft beers. It’s location makes it he perfect place to start and/or end a beer tour of York.
